Introduction to Guzheng
The guzheng is a plucked string traditional Chinese instrument.
Nani Yang devotes a particular attention to play accurately the emotions present in music pieces, and to respect the smoothness of the melody.
Hong Kong Art Record Company recorded her album entitled “Moonlight Love Song”. She also recorded an ablum in Thailand named “Yu Ben Yue” which has been released throughout Asia.
In this first course, Nani Yang will introduce you how this original instrument is constructed and how to tune it. She will teach you how to play scales, how to skip notes, how to play octaves… You will have the opportunity to practice on many music pieces such as “Crossing This Creek”, “Going to School” or “Seven Dwarfs” among other ones. Several exercises are also available so that you can train on the different notions introduced in this course.

This first course of guzheng is divided into two parts. The first session is an introduction of guzheng, you will learn among other things, how this instrument is structured and its characteristics. In the second part you will learn how to tune your instrument, how to play different types of scales and you will train on several music pieces.
