Eloy Casagrande was born in São Paulo. He is the drummer of the Brazilian metal band Sepultura.
Considered a drumming prodigy, winner of the Modern Drummer’s undiscovered drummer contest at the age of 15, Eloy Casagrande joined the band Sepultura in 2011, following Igor Cavalera and Jean Dolabella, when he was only 20 years old.
His technical skills, groove, precision and punching power put him among the best metal drummers in the world. Above all, they quickly allowed the entire Sepultura band to take another step forward. His mastery and use of Brazilian rhythms make him unique in the world of metal and have allowed the band to return solidly to their roots.
With Sepultura, he recorded the albums The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart, Machine Messiah, Quadra.
In the margin of Sepultura, Eloy develops the duo project Casagrande & Hanysz, he also feeds his Youtube page Eloy Casagrande which counts millions of views.
The guest of many masterclasses
His status in the metal and drum community regularly leads Eloy to participate in clinics, workshops and drum masterclasses.
But it is for the first time, on imusic-school, that he records a masterclass in video. He presents his favorite techniques, rhythms and patterns, his way to develop his solos. He also shares his work method and his way of managing the stage.
