Masterclass with Guillaume Perret

In this masterclass devoted to the saxophone, Guillaume Perret offers you a complete apprenticeship centred on sound. In particular, you will work on false fingerings and harmonic fingerings to develop a powerful sound that will enable you to stand out and assert your presence on stage. Guillaume will guide you through a series of exercises designed to refine your sense of sound and make you aware of the importance of managing the air column. You’ll also explore the language of harmony, learning about scales, triads, modes and chords.

Finally, the long-awaited aspect of this masterclass concerns the use of effects. Guillaume, an expert in the art of effects applied to the saxophone, will guide you through various musical situations using a looper pedal to create unique atmospheres and compositions. You’ll discover the huge range of sonic possibilities open to you, sometimes using the saxophone as a percussion instrument or a bass.

To conclude, Guillaume will show you the application of the effects on three of his compositions: “Shoe Box,” “En Good,” and “Heavy Dance.”
