Paulo Xisto tells you the history and development of Sepultura. He tells about the meeting of the teenagers of Belo Horizonte, the recording of the first EP, and all the steps towards the international recognition, the return to the roots of the Brazilian music too. He evokes of course the evolution of the line-up, with the arrival of Andreas Kisser, Derrick Green, and finally Eloy Casagrande.
Paulo also presents his background, his equipment, and explains how he prepares for the concerts, what feedback he asks on stage, what interaction he has on stage with the drummer.
Of course, he shows you some of Sepultura’s bass lines: those of Resistant Parasite and Ramahatta as a solo act, those of Refuse Resist, Sepulnation, Roots and Agony of defeat as a bass-drum section.

A word from your teacher
The first part of this masterclass is aimed at fans of the band Sepultura. Paulo tells you about the birth and evolution of the band. A way that allows each new musician to believe in his project, to share the reflections and steps allowing the professionalization, especially the evolution of the line-up that many bands know.
Afterwards, bassists who want to play in the Sepultura way will enjoy demonstrations and explanations on the bass and rhythm section of Sepultura on selected songs.
